TEKKONKINKREET (2006)
About 2 orphan boys named Black and White (also referred to as “cats”) and their life in the yakuza infested Treasure Town. Not really a friendly kind of film despite the apparent color vomit.
White’s a real dope. Utters nonsense shit every now and then but I dunno, there’s something charming about him. Black ,on the other hand, is kinda emo without White on his side. The yakuza (rats) were kinda weak. And the police were only spectators in every conflict.
Despite being kinda weak plot-wise (not enough to make me think about its plot after the credits rolled), this film is a visual treat. The animation style gave life to the entire film.

    Game of Thrones

I have been to engrossed with Game of Thrones (HBO Series) these past few days. Wicked awesome animated opening creds! Damn it. I can’t even really put it into words.

    Pet Shop of Horrors
I remember watching this years ago and man! I was totally creeped out!
Count D, the man of this freaky pet shop gives off an aura of freaky creep. I don’t even know if that made sense but I was still a kid when I was first exposed to such disturbing animated show. Anyway, each rare pet comes with a contract with weird restrictions and guidelines. Either be faithful to this contract or suffer the twisted consequences.
It’s that kind of freakshow you get hooked with. What do you expect from a Madhouse Inc. product anyway?

This isn't a question, but as a fellow animation fan (from Disney animations to Japanese Animes), I wanted to hear your thoughts about this short animated clip, 'La Maison en Petits Cubes' (Tsumiki no Ie). It won some Academy Award in 2009, but I somehow feel that there are too few people who know about it, and I'm starting to wonder whether I am the only one who liked this film as much as Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away. Here's the link for your convenience http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX0Dvtvev1E

    Hi! Thanks for sharing!

La Maison en Petits Cubes (2008) actually says a lot without even uttering a single word. Amazingly strong and beautifully for a short animated film.

Its illustrative style suited the plot. It was like watching an illustrated book come to life! I don’t know if any other illustrative execution would be successful in giving off such nostalgic feel.

To put it shortly, the short film’s stitched nicely and delivered effectively. Indeed, more people should watch this animated short film.

Paranoia Agent (2004) by Satoshi Kon
13 episodes of what? Mind fuck? MORE LIKE MIND RAPE. Wish I never watched all episodes in just a single day. This series somehow made me feel dumb. I really don’t know how to describe this entire series (plot-wise) but it sure made me use my brain (More like forced).
Well, at least Paranoia Agent kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the big scene where shonen bat would be exposed.
I think this series has the freakiest opening credits. Watch it, you’ll understand.
This series is freakishly insane. I mean literally full of crazy.
