    Persepolis (2007)
Animated film adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic novel of the same name.
What can I say? I found myself laughing at this darkly humorous film. There is something morosely charming about it. How it depicts the hardship of Marjane in every scene is moving. One can’t help but relate to her (esp. if your’e a girl or a gay guy). What she went through is far from ordinary growing pains. If you think your life is full of shit, try putting yourself in her shoes. Maybe then you’d think twice about being all emo and shit.
Animation-wise, the illustrative style suited the theme and it had been faithful to the graphic novel’s illustrations. Simple pictures to depict complex points.
Not a witless animated film indeed.
